- Die Metropolitan Community Church, kurz MCC (vollständig: The Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches oder UFMCC), ist eine weltweit agierende Dachorganisation für ein Netzwerk von protestantischen Freikirchen. MCC entstand ursprünglich im Oktober 1968 als kleine Einzelgemeinde des homosexuellen Pastors Troy Perry im Umfeld der Schwulenszene von Los Angeles; die Gründung war eine Reaktion auf die zu der Zeit erhebliche gesellschaftliche Diskriminierung von Schwulen und Lesben. Die ursprüngliche Fokussierung auf die schwul-lesbische Szene entwickelte sich weiter zu einem generellen Prinzip der Inklusivität, so dass MCC mittlerweile danach strebt, auch andere, oftmals ausgegrenzte Minderheiten zu erreichen. 2005 übernahm Nancy Wilson das Amt des Moderators von Troy Perry. Kenmerkend voor het kerkgenootschap is specifieke aandacht voor lesbische, homoseksuele, biseksuele en transgender personen, families en gemeenschappen. Er zijn 222 gemeenten in 37 landen aangesloten. De meeste kerken zijn te vinden in de Verenigde Staten, gevolgd door Canada. In Nederland is de Internationale Roze Kerk in Den Haag aangesloten bij de MCC, in België zijn geen MCC's. (nl)
- As Igrejas da Comunidade Metropolitana (ICM) são uma comunhão brasileira e internacional de comunidades cristãs da vertente protestante, e caracterizada particularmente por seu progressivismo humanitário e aceitação irrestrita de fiéis que se identificam como lésbicas, gays, bissexuais, transsexuais e afins (LGBT), e seus familiares e amigos/as. Cada congregação da ICM é compreendida dentro do que é conhecido como Fraternidade Universal das Igrejas da Comunidade Metropolitana (FUICM). A ICM foi fundada em 1968, nos EUA, pelo Reverendo Troy Perry, está estabelecida em mais de 30 países, em todos os continentes.
