The Men's Hockey Champions Challenge I was an international men's field hockey tournament, played every two years. It was introduced in 2001 by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) in order to broaden hockey's competitive base at world level, the last tournament was held in 2014 in Malaysia and won by South Korea. The champions challenge was replaced by the FIH Hockey World League in 2014 after eight editions.

- Het toernooi om de Champions Challenge was het kleinere broertje van de jaarlijkse strijd om de Champions Trophy, dat in 2001 in het leven werd geroepen door de wereldhockeybond FIH. Achterliggende gedachte was verdere promotie en ontwikkeling van de hockeysport. Het toernooi werd in principe om de twee jaar gehouden, met deelname van de mondiale nummers zeven tot en met twaalf. De winnaar plaatste zich voor de Champions Trophy van het daaropvolgende jaar. In 2014 had de laatste editie plaats waarna de Hockey World League in de plaats kwam. (nl)

Organizzata dall'International Hockey Federation, è stata attiva dal 2001 e vi partecipavano le squadre dal settimo al dodicesimo posto del ranking mondiale in un girone all'italiana. La vincitrice del torneo partecipava all'Hockey Champions Trophy l'anno successivo, mentre l'ultima classificata del Champions Trophy partecipava al Champions Challenge. Dopo l'edizione 2014 è stato sostituito dalla Hockey World League. (it)

| - Die Champions Challenge ist ein internationales Hockeyturnier, das seit 2001 alle zwei Jahre ausgerichtet wird. Es gibt sowohl ein Turnier für Damen als auch für Herren. Sinn der Champions Challenge ist mehr Wettkämpfe im Hockey auf Weltniveau zu ermöglichen. Teilnahmeberechtigt zu diesem Turnier sind die Nationen, die sich auf den Plätzen sieben bis zwölf der Weltrangliste der Fédération Internationale de Hockey (FIH) befinden. Maßgeblich hierfür ist die Position in der Weltrangliste nach dem letzten großen Hockeyturnier (Olympische Spiele oder Hockey-Weltmeisterschaften) vor der Champions Challenge. Darüber hinaus ist die gastgebende Nation und der Sechstplatzierte (Letzter) der vergangenen Champions Trophy qualifiziert.Die Champions Challenge kann als Champions Trophy für B-Nationen bezeichnet werden. Der Sieger der Champions Challenge darf an der Champions Trophy im folgenden Jahr teilnehmen. (de)
