| - Un megamix (prefijo «mega», del griego μέγας, que significa 'grande', entendido como 'un millón'; y «mix», del inglés 'mezcla') parte de la idea de un collage musical y sonoro, en el que el productor o megamixer combina elementos de diferentes canciones para crear un conjunto unitario. El megamixer puede emplear muestras y fragmentos extraídos de las canciones originales, usando sus habilidades y recursos técnicos para desarrollar un amplio abanico de efectos que aporten vistosidad y frescura musical, por lo general turntablism, sampling, scratches, repeticiones de beats, e incluso composición musical propia e inédita. Como definición conceptual, en España se suele hacer referencia a la frase plasmada en 1991 por Fernandisco en el disco Max Mix 11: «Megamix es un millón de mezclas». (es)

- En megamix är vanligtvis en rad olika låtar med diverse artister som spelas i ett och samma spår, som en lång låt där de mixats samman. Vanligt förekommande är att de discjockeyer som mixat spåret gjort övergångarna underhållande med till exempel a cappella, roliga samplingar osv. En liknande mix fast med en och samma artist kallas på svenska för potpurri och på engelska för medley. (sv)

- A megamix is a remix containing multiple songs in rapid succession. It often features various artists. There may be only one verse or even just a brief chorus of each song used, sometimes in addition to samples of the same or other songs. It is common to use different samples to maintain and sometimes even ridicule the original. To unify the songs together smoothly, a single backing beat may be added as background throughout the megamix, although this is not a must. This backing beat is kept basic so as to simplify mixing and to not compete with the music. These mixes are usually several minutes long at minimum, going up to a half-hour or an hour, or even more sometimes. (en)

- Megamix é um "remix", ou seja, uma grande remistura musical. Livremente dir-se-ia que é uma "megaremistura" de músicas, de um artista ou de diversos. A palavra Megamix surge no inglês para definir, em termos musicais, uma sequência de partes musicais distintas (de diferentes canções, por exemplo) que são conjugadas e remisturadas num única faixa. Em termos musicais, basicamente, é um pot-pourri ou medley. Não é correto aplicar o termo Megamix a um set de um DJ, o que difere é a técnica usada que na grande maioria das vezes é criada em computadores e impossível ser feito ao vivo. (pt)
