- Maximilien Rubel (Txernivtsí, 1905 - París, 1996) va ser un marxòleg austríac naturalitzat francès, consellista, marxista. Educat en lleis i filosofia a Viena i Txernivtsíabans de traslladar-se a França per fer estudis d'alemany a la Sorbona, on va rebre la seua licence-dès-lettres el 1934. Es va convertir en ciutadà francès el 1937, i poc després va començar a publicar la revista literària Verbe-Cahiers humains, abans d'ingressar a l'Exèrcit francès. A causa dels seus orígens jueus, Rubel va viure clandestinament a París durant l'ocupació de França dels nazis. (ca)
- Maximilien Rubel (10 October 1905, in Chernivtsi – 28 February 1996, in Paris) was a famous Marxist historian and council communist. Rubel was born in western Ukraine and was educated in law and philosophy in Vienna and Chernivtsi National University, the town of his birth and was influenced by the Austro-Marxist Max Adler. He moved to France in 1931 to study sociology at the Sorbonne, from which he received his Licence-ès-lettres in 1934. He became a French citizen in 1937, and shortly after began publishing the literary magazine Verbe-Cahiers humains, before being drafted into the French Army. Due to his Jewish origins, Rubel lived semi-secretly in Paris under the German occupation of France. (en)

Maximilien Rubel ha dedicato la sua tesi universitaria di dottorato a Marx. Nel 1959 ha fondato la rivista Etudes de marxologie. Ha inoltre partecipato al "Groupe communiste de conseils", gruppo che ha curato – dal 1962 – la pubblicazione della rivista Cahiers de discussion pour le socialisme des conseils. (it)
