Maurice Southgate (20 June 1913 – 17 March 1990), code named Hector, was an officer in the Royal Air Force and an agent of the United Kingdom's clandestine Special Operations Executive (SOE) organization during World War II. The purpose of SOE was to conduct espionage, sabotage, and reconnaissance in occupied Europe against the Axis powers, especially Nazi Germany. SOE agents allied themselves with resistance groups and supplied them with weapons and equipment parachuted in from England.

De janvier 1943 à avril 1944, il développa le réseau action Hector-STATIONER : couvrant l'Indre, l'Auvergne, le Limousin, etc. son réseau y organisa de nombreux parachutages et sabotages ; avec des implantations à Châteauroux, Limoges, Tarbes, Toulouse, Montluçon, Clermont-Ferrand et une antenne à Paris, il instruisit et arma les maquisards ; il accueillit un grand nombre d'agents du SOE envoyés en France pour soutenir la Résistance intérieure en prévision du débarquement. Le 1er mai 1944, il fut arrêté par les Allemands et déporté à Buchenwald, dont il revint. (fr)
