| - Margaret Cavendish Bentinck, Duchess of Portland, geb. Harley (* 11. Februar 1715 in London; † 17. Juli 1785 in , Buckinghamshire) war eine britische Botanikerin und Naturkundlerin. Sie war zu Lebzeiten die reichste Frau Großbritanniens und verwendete beträchtliche Teile ihres Vermögens für ihre Kunst- und Naturkundesammlung in Bulstrode. Ihre Sammlung, das sogenannte , war die größte Naturkundesammlung Großbritanniens im 18. Jahrhundert und vermutlich auch Europas. Sie übertraf die heute weitaus berühmtere Sammlung von Sir Hans Sloane im British Museum. Der Verkauf ihrer Sammlung nach ihrem Tod nahm 38 Tage in Anspruch und führte schließlich dazu, dass die Herzogin und ihre Sammlung in Vergessenheit gerieten.
