- Marcel Junod (* 14. Mai 1904 in Neuchâtel; † 16. Juni 1961 in Genf) war ein Schweizer Arzt. Nach seinem Studium der Medizin und einer kurzen Tätigkeit als Chirurg wurde er Delegierter des Internationalen Komitees vom Roten Kreuz (IKRK). Er war in dieser Funktion im Einsatz in Äthiopien während des Italienisch-Äthiopischen Krieges (1935/1936), in Spanien während des Spanischen Bürgerkrieges (1936–1939) sowie in Europa und Japan während des Zweiten Weltkrieges (1939–1945). Über seine Erlebnisse bei diesen Einsätzen schrieb er ein Buch mit dem Titel «Kämpfer beidseits der Front». Nach dem Krieg war er zunächst für das UN-Kinderhilfswerk UNICEF als Repräsentant in China tätig. - Marcel Junod (14 May 1904 – 16 June 1961) was a Swiss medical doctor and one of the most accomplished field delegates in the history of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). After medical school and a short position as a surgeon in Mulhouse, France, he became an ICRC delegate and was deployed in Ethiopia during the Second Italo-Abyssinian War, in Spain during the Spanish Civil War, and in Europe as well as in Japan during World War II. In 1947, he wrote a book with the title Warrior without Weapons about his experiences. After the war, he worked for the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) as chief representative in China, and settled back in Europe in 1950. - Marcel Junod (14 mai 1904 - 16 juin 1961) était un médecin suisse et un des délégués les plus fameux du Comité international de la Croix-Rouge (CICR). Après avoir étudié la médecine puis travaillé durant une courte période comme chirurgien à Mulhouse, il est entré au CICR comme délégué et a été envoyé en Éthiopie pendant la Seconde guerre italo-éthiopienne, en Espagne pendant la guerre civile espagnole, et en Europe ainsi qu'au Japon au cours de Seconde Guerre mondiale. En septembre 1945, il arrive à Hiroshima fin août et obtient du matériel sanitaire des Américains pour commencer de prodiguer des soins aux blessés.
