As of 25 June 2022, 78 Global Positioning System navigation satellites have been built: 31 are launched and operational, 3 are unhealthy or in reserve, 41 are retired, 2 were lost during launch, and 1 prototype was never launched. The constellation requires a minimum of 24 operational satellites, and allows for up to 32; typically, 31 are operational at any one time. A GPS receiver needs four satellites to work out its position in three dimensions.

  • Do června 2020 bylo vypuštěno celkem 75 satelitů navigačního systému GPS, z nichž 31 je v operačním provozu, 9 je rezervních, dva jsou testovány, 30 je mimo provoz a dva byly ztraceny při startu. Konstelace pro svoje fungování vyžaduje nejméně 24 satelitů, cílem je mít 33 satelitů v operačním provozu. SVN (anglicky „space vehicle numbers“) jsou sériová čísla přiřazené každému satelitu GPS. PRN (anglicky „pseudo-random noise“), nebo také „zlaté kódy“, jsou identifikační čísla každého satelitu, jejichž vysíláním se satelity od sebe rozlišují. (cs)
