The Ligue des Bibliothèques Européennes de Recherche (LIBER) (Association of European Research Libraries; est. 1971) is a professional association of national and university research libraries in Europe. As of 2018 its membership includes some 400 organizations. It operates as a Dutch foundation, with headquarters in the Koninklijke Bibliotheek in The Hague.

Die Vereinigung wurde 1971 unter der Schirmherrschaft des Europarates gegründet. Derzeit besteht diese Vereinigung aus über 400 Mitgliedern, vorwiegend aus europäischen National- und Universitätsbibliotheken. Das Sekretariat der Vereinigung befand sich zunächst an der Königlichen Bibliothek in Kopenhagen, zum 30. September 2008 wurde es an die Königliche Bibliothek der Niederlande in Den Haag verlegt und ist nun eine Stiftung nach niederländischem Recht. (de)

A nivell internacional, s'adhereix a l'IFLA. L'origen de LIBER va sorgir a partir d'una reunió de 1968 de la Federació Internacional d'Associacions de Biblioteques. Entre els seus fundadors va ser el bibliotecari suís Jean-Pierre Clavel. La catalana Agnès Ponsati Obiols va ser nomenada el juliol de 2017 membre de la Junta Directiva de LIBER. (ca)
