LesBiGay Radio (Contraction of Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual) started in June 1994 and was founded by Alan Amberg to cater to the LGBT population of Chicago, Illinois. It was shut down in April 2001, just shy of its 7th anniversary. It was America's only daily show for the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community, doing a total of 520 broadcasting hours a year. In 1998, it was inducted into the Chicago LGBT Hall of Fame.
