The Landkreis Freystadt i. Niederschles. was a district of the German state of Prussia from 1816 to 1945. It was part of the Prussian Province of Lower Silesia, before 1919 the Prussian Province of Silesia, within Regierungsbezirk Liegnitz. After 1945, it became part of Poland and is currently in the Lubusz Voivodeship. On 1 January 1945 it included:

* 74 municipalities,
* 1 Gutsbezirk (Forests).

Powiat Freystadt należał do rejencji legnickiej pruskiej Prowincji Śląsk i początkowo funkcjonował pod nazwą powiatu Neusalz, ale w 1820 r. zmieniono jego nazwę w związku z przeniesieniem siedziby z Nowej Soli do Kożuchowa. W 1932 r. został zlikwidowany poprzez włączenie do powiatu Grünberg i. Schles., ale już rok później wydzielono go ponownie. Od 1939 r. powiat funkcjonował pod nazwą Freystadt i. Niederschles. Od 1945 r. terytorium powiatu znajduje się pod administracją polską. (pl)
