Kermit Edward Krantz (June 4, 1923 – July 30, 2007) was a surgeon, inventor and faculty member at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He is most known as the co-developer of the Marshall-Marchetti-Krantz (MMK), a medical procedure for stress urinary incontinence which he performed over 5000 times. He served as Chairman of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Kansas School of Medicine. He was largely credited with desegregating the maternity ward of that hospital in the 1960s.

Krantz erwarb 1945 den Bachelor of Science an der Northwestern University, 1947 den Master of Science in Anatomie und 1948 den Doktor der Medizin. Seine Residency absolvierte er am Cornell Medical College, am New York Lying-In Hospital (heute NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital) und an der University of Vermont. Er wurde Assistant Professor an der University of Vermont, dann an der University of Arkansas und bekam schließlich eine Vollprofessur für Anatomie sowie für Gynäkologie und Geburtshilfe am University of Kansas Medical College (KUMC), die er 31 Jahre vertrat.
