Mar Joseph III Timothy Maroge (or Youssef III Timotheos Maraugin or Maroghin) was the third incumbent of the Josephite line of Church of the East, a patriarchate in Full Communion with the pope mainly active in the areas of Amid and Mardin. He was the Patriarch of the Chaldean Catholic Church from 1713 to 1757.

Januar 1757 in Diyarbakir) war ein Patriarch der Chaldäisch-katholischen Kirche (Patriarchat von Diyarbakir). Er war zunächst „Zögling der Schule des großen Rom“, d. h. des römischen Kollegs der Propaganda-Kongregation. Unter dem Namen Timotheus wurde er 1696 Metropolit von Diyarbakir und kurz nach dem Tod Mar Josephs II. († 1712) auf dessen Wunsch zum Patriarchen bestellt. Die römische Bestätigung und das Pallium erhielt er 1714. Joseph III. verteidigte die Union mit Rom in Diyarbakir sowie Mardin und weitete sie, unterstützt durch lateinische Missionare, in die Ebene von Mosul aus, wo er persönlich 1723 ca. 3000 Konvertiten gewann. Auf Betreiben seiner konfessionellen Gegner wurde er durch die osmanischen Behörden mehrfach inhaftiert. 1731 aus dem Gefängnis entlass (de) Timotheos Maraugin (Kirkuk, ... – Amida, 23 gennaio 1757) è stato eparca di Mardin e patriarca della Chiesa caldea con il nome di Yosep III. Nativo di Kirkuk, educato dai missionari Cappuccini a Amida, fu consacrato vescovo di Mardin nel 1696 dal patriarca Yosep II. Alla morte di questi nel 1713, fu eletto patriarca caldeo, approvato in concistoro a Roma il 13 novembre 1713, e confermato dalla Santa Sede il 18 marzo 1714. Nel 1734 Yosep III partì per l'Europa e visitò le corti europee di Polonia, Austria e Roma per raccogliere fondi in aiuto alla sua Chiesa. (it)
