Lieutenant General John Christopher Guise VC CB (27 July 1826 – 5 February 1895) was a British Army officer and English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Guise attended Sandhurst and served in the Crimean War albeit briefly as he was forced to return home after falling ill. 90th Regiment Elected by the Officers of the Regiment. His VC is on display in the Lord Ashcroft Gallery at the Imperial War Museum, London.
