Jim Flynn (March 24, 1938 – May 8, 2019) was an American country music songwriter. Flyn joined the United States Army and was part of "Operation Gyroscope" deployed to Germany as part of the Cold War efforts. As a civilian, he returned to Lewiston and worked his way through business college. Later he became a high school teacher and sports coach, then selling textbooks to public schools. Flynn began writing story songs on video sharing sites such as YouTube.
