James Pevitt Challinor (2 August 1934 – 18 December 1976) was an English rugby union and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1950s and 1960s, and coached rugby league in the 1960s and 1970s. A Great Britain international representative three-quarter back, he played club level rugby league (RL) for Warrington (with whom he won the 1954 Challenge Cup), and Barrow (who he also captained). Challinor later coached Great Britain as well as Barrow, Liverpool City and St. Helens. Challinor is a Warrington Wolves Hall of Fame inductee, only two men have played in, and coached Rugby League World Cup winning Great Britain sides, they are; Eric Ashton, and Jim Challinor.

  • James Challinor dit Jim Challinor, né le 2 août 1934 à Warrington (Angleterre) et mort le 18 décembre 1976 à Warrington (Angleterre), est un ancien joueur et entraîneur de rugby à XIII anglais évoluant au poste d'ailier ou de centre dans les années 1950 et 1960. Il effectue la grande majeure partie de sa carrière de joueur au sein de l'équipe de Warrington avec lequel il remporte deux titres de Championnat d'Angleterre en 1954 et 1955 ainsi que la Challenge Cup en 1954. Après une décennie à Warrington, il rejoint le club de Barrow en tant qu'entraîneur-joueur avec lequel il est finaliste de la Challenge Cup en 1967. Parallèlement, il est appelé en sélection de Grande-Bretagne avec laquelle il est vainqueur de la Coupe du monde en 1960. (fr)
