He studied at the Stedelijk Secundair Kunstinstituut Gent(Municipal Secondary Art Institute of Ghent) and the Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten(Royal Academy of Fine Arts). He significantly contributed to the discovery of the now very popular Flemish painter Michaël Borremans.
