In Dzogchen, the ground or base (Tibetan: གཞི, Wylie: gzhi) is the primordial state. It is an essential component of the Dzogchen tradition for both the Bon tradition and the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism. Knowledge of this ground is called rigpa.
