George W. Parsons (21 April 1926 – 24 November 2009) was a Welsh dual-code international rugby union, and professional rugby league footballer who played in the 1940s and 1950s. He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Abertillery RFC, Cardiff RFC, Newport RFC (two spells), and Newbridge RFC, as a lock, i.e. number 4 or 5, and representative level rugby league (RL) for Great Britain and Wales, and at club level for St. Helens, Rochdale Hornets and Salford, as a second-row, i.e. number 11 or 12, during the era of contested scrums. He coached Salford from 1960 to 1963.

  • George Parsons, né le 21 avril 1926 à et mort 24 novembre 2009, était un joueur de rugby à XV et rugby à XIII gallois évoluant au poste de pilier en XV et deuxième ligne en XIII dans les années 1940 et 1950. Débutant par le rugby à XV, il joue à Cardiff RFC puis , il dispute également le tournoi des cinq nations en 1947. En 1948, il devient professionnel en changeant de code pour le rugby à XIII en signant à St Helens RLFC (club où il est inscrit au temple de la renommée). Il reste dix années à St Helens avant de rejoindre Rochdale Hornets. (fr)
