| - George Augustus Robinson (22 March 1791 – 18 October 1866) was a British-born colonial official and self-trained preacher in colonial Australia. In 1824, Robinson travelled to Hobart, Van Diemen’s Land, where he attempted to negotiate a peace between European settlers and Aboriginal Tasmanians prior to the outbreak of the Black War. He was appointed Chief Protector of Aborigines by the Aboriginal Protection Board in Port Phillip District, New South Wales in 1839, a position he held until 1849. (en)

Robinson urodził się 22 marca 1791 roku w rodzinie Williama Robinsona i Susannah z domu Perry. 28 lutego 1814 roku ożenił się z Marią Amelią Evans. Wyemigrował do Hobart na Tasmanii, gdzie dotarł w styczniu 1824 roku. Żona i dzieci dołączyli do niego w kwietniu roku 1826. Protektorat zniesiono 31 grudnia 1849 roku. Robinson zmarł 18 października 1866 w Bath. (pl)
