| - is the administrative centre of Farsund municipality in Agder county, Norway. The town is located near the mouth of the Lyngdalsfjorden, about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) east of the village of Vanse. Frelserens Church is the main church for the town. The 2.96-square-kilometre (730-acre) town has a population (2019) of 3,377 and a population density of 1,140 inhabitants per square kilometre (3,000/sq mi). In Norway, Farsund is considered a by which can be translated as either a "town" or "city" in English. (en)
- Farsund is een plaats in de gelijknamige Noorse gemeente Farsund, provincie Agder. Farsund telt 3.123 inwoners (2009) en heeft een oppervlakte van 2,58 km². Tijdens de jaren zestig waren er veel grote gemeentelijke fusies in heel Noorwegen vanwege het werk van het Schei-comité. Op 1 januari 1965 werd de stad Farsund (destijds 2.208 inwoners) samengevoegd met de buurgemeenten Spind (destijds 606 inwoners), Herad (destijds 359 inwoners) en Lista (destijds 4.544 inwoners), waardoor er een nieuwe, grotere gemeente ontstond.
