Edna Staebler CM (January 15, 1906 – September 12, 2006) was a Canadian writer and award-winning literary journalist, best known for her series of cookbooks, particularly Food That Really Schmecks which is currently available in e-book form. While the book contains Mennonite recipes, the content also includes stories and anecdotes about life and home cooking in the rural areas of the Waterloo Region.

Staebler wuchs an ihrem Geburtsort auf. Sie erhielt den Bachelor of Arts der University of Toronto und eine Lehrerlaubnis des . Sie heiratete im Jahre 1933 und ließ sich 1962 scheiden. Sie schrieb zahlreiche Artikel für Zeitschriften und Magazine, wie Maclean’s, , Saturday Night, Reader’s Digest, Star Weekly. Staebler starb an einem Schlaganfall im Alter von 100 Jahren. Zajmowała się jednocześnie pracą literacką, traktując ją jednak amatorsko. Zawodowo zajęła się pisaniem pod koniec lat 40. Jej pierwszą poważną publikacją był artykuł w piśmie "MacLean's" w 1948, w którym relacjonowała swoją podróż na wyspę Cape Breton. Jeden z kolejnych artykułów, poświęcony kulturze mennonitów (również na łamach "Maclean's") przyniósł jej nagrodę Canadian Women's Press Club w 1950. (pl)
