E! was a high-definition entertainment channel, owned by NBCUniversal International Networks. It was officially launched in Asia on 30 November 1997 with Hallmark Channel Asia, later known as Diva. For the most part outside of a few local programmes, it mainly carried programmes from the American E! network with dubbing or subtitling where appropriate. E! in Southeast Asia was rebranded in 2012, it was changed by removing the exclamation mark behind the "E" but keeping the underneath part, along with the new slogan "Pop of Culture".

On March 14, 2019, E! Entertainment on Astro Channel 712 switch to 16:9 format and the HD version of E! Entertainment begin on 16 October 2019.
