This lake extends mainly in the cantons of Lacasse (northern part of the lake), Toussaint (north-east), Hanotaux (west), Crémazie (center west), Lemay (center east), Poisson (South-West) and Evanturel (South-Central). Recreotourism activities are the main economic activity of the sector. Forestry comes second. Recreational boating is particularly popular on this water, especially for sport fishing. The hydrographic slope of the "Du Mâle Lake" is served on the side:
* North, by the forest roads R2046 and R1045 which connects the village of Obedjiwan, Quebec;
* West, by the forest road R1009, serving the Gouin Reservoir;
* South, by the forest road R1009 and the R040. The surface of Male Lake is usually frozen from mid-November to the end of April, however, safe ice circulation is generally from early December to late March. Water management at the Gouin Dam can lead to significant variations in the water level, particularly at the end of the winter when the water is lowered. (en)

Ce lac s’étend surtout dans les cantons de Lacasse (partie Nord), de Toussaint (au Nord-Est), d’Hanotaux (à l’Ouest), de Crémazie (au centre Ouest), de Lemay (au centre Est), de Poisson (au Sud-Ouest) et d’Évanturel (au centre-Sud). Les activités récréotouristiques constituent la principale activité économique du secteur. La foresterie arrive en second. La navigation de plaisance est particulièrement populaire sur ce plan d’eau, notamment pour la pêche sportive. Le bassin versant du lac du Mâle est desservi du côté :
* Nord, par les routes forestières R2046 et R1045 laquelle relie le village d’Obedjiwan ;
* Ouest, par la route forestière R1009, desservant le réservoir Gouin ;
* Sud, par la route forestière R1009 et la R040. La surface du lac du Mâle est habituellement gelée de la mi-novembre à la fin avril, toutefois la circulation sécuritaire sur la glace se fait généralement du début décembre à la fin de mars. La gestion des eaux au barrage Gouin peut entrainer des variations significatives du niveau de l’eau particulièrement en fin de l’hiver où l’eau est abaissée. (fr)
