Wstąpił na tron Irlandii po bratu ojca, Eochaidzie Praojcu, zwanym także Dagdą. Z żony Ernmas, córki Etharlama, syna Nuady ze Srebrną Ręką, miał dwóch synów: Fiachę i Olloma; zaś Briana, Iucharbę i Iuchara z córką o imieniu Donann. Szóstym synem był Indui.
