Savita Halappanavar (née Savita Andanappa Yalagi; 9 September 1981 – 28 October 2012) was a dentist of Indian origin, living in Ireland; she was denied an abortion by medical staff at University Hospital Galway following an incomplete miscarriage on the grounds that granting her request would be illegal under Irish law, ultimately resulting in her death from septic miscarriage. Her death served as a rallying cry for efforts to repeal the Eighth Amendment of the Constitution of Ireland, which prohibited abortion in most instances.

  • Savita Halappanavar (ur. 9 września 1981 w Bagalkot, zm. 28 października 2012 w Galway) – Hinduska mieszkająca w Irlandii. Jej śmierć doprowadziła do uchwalenia w 2013 roku ustawy o ochronie życia w czasie ciąży.
