The DB Class 218 (before 1968 the DB Class V 164) are a class of 4-axle, diesel-hydraulic locomotives acquired by the Deutsche Bundesbahn for use on main and secondary lines for both passenger and freight trains. Despite being displaced from many workings by DMUs, electrification, and inherited DR Class 130s, as of 2009 a significant number of the class still remain active throughout Germany.

(fr) Baureihe 218 – lokomotywa spalinowa produkowana w latach 1968–1979 dla kolei zachodnioniemieckich. Wyprodukowano 398 lokomotyw. Spalinowozy były produkowane do prowadzenia pociągów pasażerskich na niezelektryfikowanych liniach kolejowych. Pierwsze lokomotywy spalinowe zostały wyprodukowane w 1968 roku przez zakład Krupp zlokalizowany w miejscowości Essen. Lokomotywy były eksploatowane do prowadzenia międzynarodowych pociągów ekspresowych Trans-Europ-Express. Zostały pomalowane na charakterystyczny kolor beżowy i czerwony.
