Custer is a ghost town in Custer County, Idaho, United States. Established in 1877, it is at 44°23′15″N 114°41′45″W / 44.38750°N 114.69583°W (44.3874133, -114.6959118), at an elevation of 6,470 feet (1,972 m). It lies along Yankee Fork Road southwest of the city of Challis, within the Challis National Forest. In 1981, the community was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as a historic district. Although the district covers 29 acres (12 ha), only seven buildings retain enough historic integrity to qualify as contributing properties.

(en) Custer ist eine Ortslage im Custer County, Idaho und liegt am im Salmon-Challis National Forest. Die ehemalige Goldgräberstadt ist heute ein Freilichtmuseum und nicht mehr bewohnt. Custer entstand 1879 in der Nähe der nach George Armstrong Custer benannten General Custer Mine, die wiederum dem County seinen Namen gab. Die Geschichte des Ortes ist eng mit der Siedlung Bonanza einige Kilometer flussabwärts verbunden. Bis zur Jahrhundertwende profitierten beide Orte vom Goldbergbau, 1986 lebten etwa 600 Menschen in Custer. Es gab dort ein Postamt, ein Hotel und eine Herberge, mehrere Ladengeschäfte, Saloons und Restaurants, eine Schule und eine Chinatown. 1904 schlossen die ersten zwei Bergwerke in der Gegend. Bis 1911 wurden auch die übrigen Minen stillgelegt, die Siedlung wurde zur Geister (de) Custer is een spookstadje in het midden van de Amerikaanse staat Idaho. Custer ontstond in het mijntijdperk van de jaren 1880 en groeide met de ontwikkeling van de kwartsmijnen.
