Charles F. Thompson (December 11, 1882 – June 15, 1954) was a career officer in the United States Army. A veteran of World War I and World War II, he attained the rank of major general and was notable as the first Chief of the United States Army Reserve and for his command of 3rd Infantry Division and I Corps. After the war, Thompson commanded the Patient Detachment at Walter Reed General Hospital. He retired in late 1945 and was a resident of Washington, D.C. Thompson died in Washington on June 15, 1954, and was buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
