- Benny Lévy, più noto sotto lo pseudonimo di Pierre Victor (Il Cairo, 28 agosto 1945 – Gerusalemme, 15 ottobre 2003), è stato un filosofo e scrittore francese naturalizzato israeliano, tra i fondatori in Francia del movimento maoista. Fu segretario di Jean-Paul Sartre dal settembre 1973 fino alla morte dello scrittore nel 1980. Emigrato in Israele nel 1997, si stabilì a Gerusalemme dove fondò con Alain Finkielkraut e Bernard-Henri Lévy l'Institut d'études lévinassiennes, istituto di studi su Emmanuel Lévinas, che diresse fino alla morte nel 2003. - Benny Lévy (* 28. August 1945 in Kairo, Königreich Ägypten; † 15. Oktober 2003 in Jerusalem), alias Pierre Victor, war ein zeitweilig staatenloser Philosoph und Schriftsteller. Lévy kam mit elf Jahren nach Belgien und später nach Frankreich, wo er von 1965 bis 1970 die École normale supérieure besuchte. Im Pariser Mai 68 trat er als politischer Aktivist hervor. Von September 1973 bis zu dessen Tod im April 1980 war er der Privatsekretär Jean-Paul Sartres, dem er zuvor bei der Gründung der Zeitschrift Libération zur Seite gestanden hatte. (de)

Militant maoïste de premier plan sous le pseudonyme de Pierre Victor, il dirige dans la France de l'immédiat « après-Mai » (début des années 1970) la Gauche prolétarienne, groupe politique d'extrême gauche, inspiré par la doctrine maoïste. Après avoir renoncé à la violence politique, puis décidé de la dissolution de la Gauche prolétarienne, Il fait retour à la tradition juive et, inspiré par la pensée d'Emmanuel Levinas, co-fonde en 2000, avec Alain Finkielkraut et Bernard Henri Lévy l'Institut d'études lévinassiennes, qu'il dirigera jusqu'à sa mort en 2003.
