Bauruemys is an extinct genus of turtles in the family Podocnemididae. A study on the skulls of the Late Cretaceous stem-podocnemidid Bauruemys elegans from the Presidente Prudente Formation in Brazil is published by Mariani & Romano (2017), who interpret all specimens as belonging to the same species and likely to the same population, assess the ontogenetic changes in the skull of B. elegans and tentatively assess the changes of eating preference habits over ontogeny in the species.

- Bauruemys é um gênero extinto de tartarugas de água doce do Cretáceo Superior, pertencente à da família Podocnemididae, sendo a única família de Pelomedusoides com representantes fósseis e viventes no Brasil. Duas espécies são conhecidas, Bauruemys elegans e Bauruemys brasiliensis. O nome do gênero - Bauruemys - é dado devido à procedência dos indivíduos, a Bacia Bauru. A espécie é facilmente identificada pela sequência de seis placas neurais e pelo formato do seu segundo neural, que é quadrangular. (pt)

- Bauruemys é um gênero extinto de tartarugas de água doce do Cretáceo Superior, pertencente à da família Podocnemididae, sendo a única família de Pelomedusoides com representantes fósseis e viventes no Brasil. Duas espécies são conhecidas, Bauruemys elegans e Bauruemys brasiliensis. O nome do gênero - Bauruemys - é dado devido à procedência dos indivíduos, a Bacia Bauru. A espécie Bauruemys elegans é a única conhecida pelo crânio e pós crânio associados, tendo muitos espécimes coletados bem preservados e completos. Sua localidade tipo é o sítio de Pirapozinho, próximo a Presidente Prudente, informalmente conhecido como “Tartaruguito”, justamente pela grande ocorrência de tartarugas fósseis. A espécie é facilmente identificada pela sequência de seis placas neurais e pelo formato do seu segundo neural, que é quadrangular. Já Bauruemys brasiliensis é conhecida apenas pelo seu holótipo, composto por fragmentos do plastrão. (pt)
