The Balkan Universities Network or Balkan Universities Association (BAUNAS) is an association of universities in Southeast Europe. In its present form the body was created after the breakup of the SFR Yugoslavia and the end of the Yugoslav Wars. Association facilitates the regional cooperation in the context of expansion of higher education sector caused by the establishment of new private and public universities (in addition to traditional schools with their existing institutional links).

Balkan Universities Association, BAUNAS) entstand im Rahmen der Neuordnung der Balkanstaaten, der Neugründung von staatlichen und privaten Universitäten und Einführung der Bologna-Regeln in den Balkan-Universitäten. Das Netzwerk wurde 2006 von elf Hochschulen gegründet und hatte seinen Gründungssitz bei der Aristoteles-Universität Thessaloniki in Griechenland. Sitz ist Edirne (Türkei). Im Jahr 2016 hat der Rektor der Trakya-Universität Erhan Tabakoğlu in Edirne das Generalsekretariat des Netzwerks übernommen (de)
