Atex verwendete herstellergebundene, proprietäre Tastaturen und Bildschirme, die an einem Zentralrechner angeschlossen waren. Passende chinesische Tastaturen zu einem wesentlich günstigeren Preis kamen erst Anfang der 1990er-Jahre unter dem Namen Xeta (rückwärts Atex) auf den Markt. (de)
