| - Armen Ayvazyan (Armenian: Արմեն Այվազյան) (born May 14, 1964, Yerevan) is an Armenian historian and political scientist. Ayvazyan is the Director of the Ararat Center for Strategic Research and Senior Researcher in the Matenadaran, the Yerevan Institute of Medieval Manuscripts. He holds doctoral degrees in History (1992) and Political Science (2004). From 1992 to 1994 he worked as Assistant to the President of Armenia, Adviser to the Foreign Minister of Armenia, and Acting Head of the Armenian Delegation to the Conference (now Organization) on Security and Cooperation in Europe at Vienna. | - Armen Ayvazyan (Armenian: Արմեն Այվազյան) (born May 14, 1964, Yerevan) is an Armenian historian and political scientist. Ayvazyan is the Director of the Ararat Center for Strategic Research and Senior Researcher in the Matenadaran, the Yerevan Institute of Medieval Manuscripts. He holds doctoral degrees in History (1992) and Political Science (2004). From 1992 to 1994 he worked as Assistant to the President of Armenia, Adviser to the Foreign Minister of Armenia, and Acting Head of the Armenian Delegation to the Conference (now Organization) on Security and Cooperation in Europe at Vienna. He was a recipient of an International Security Studies grant provided by the Carnegie Corporation of New York, working in affiliation with the Program on the Analysis and Resolution of Conflicts, Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University (1995). During the 1997-1998 academic year, he was a Visiting Senior Fulbright Scholar, affiliated with the Center for Russian and East European Studies, Stanford University, USA. He was a Visiting Alexander S. Onassis Foundation Fellow at ELIAMEP, Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy (2000–2001, Athens). Ayvazyan worked as Adjunct Assistant Professor of Political Science at the American University of Armenia, a Fellow at the American University of Armenia's Center for Policy Analysis, Guest Lecturer at the Yerevan State University and Professor of Political Science of the Armenian State Academy of Governance. He was Team Leader of the European Commission's sponsored Campaign Against "Corruption-Friendly" Legal and Social Settings in Armenia program in 2004-2005. (en)

С 1992 по 1994 гг. работал помощником президента РА, советником министра иностранных дел РА, действующим председателем делегации РА в СБСЕ в Вене. Работал в университетах США: в 1995 г., по гранту Нью-Йоркской Корпорации Карнеги, в рамках «Программы по анализу и разрешению конфликтов» Максвелской Школы Гражданства и Управления Сиракузского университета; в 1997—1998 академическом году, по гранту Фулбрайта, в Центре русских и восточно-европейских исследований Станфордского университета. В 2000—2001 гг., по гранту Фонда им. Александра С. Онассиса, работал приглашенным стипендиатом ELIAMEP — Эллинистического фонда Европейской и зарубежной политики (Афины). A. Айвазян работал также приглашенным профессором на факультете Политологии и международных отношений Американского университета Армении, преподавателем в Государственном университете Еревана и профессором на кафедре политологии Государственной Академии Управления РА. Был также руководителем группы в программе «Кампания против юридических и социальных предпосылок коррупции в Армении» (2004—2005), спонсируемой Европейской Комиссией. В своих работах Айвазян обвиняет западные научные и политические круги в преднамеренной фальсификации истории Армении. В своей работе «Освещение истории Армении в Американской историографии (Критический обзор)» он подвергает резкой критике целый ряд известных западных арменологов и кавказоведов, в том числе и армянского происхождения, среди прочих профессоров Рональда Григора Сюни, Роберта Томпсона, Джеймса Рассела, Ричарда Ованнисяна и многих других. Айвазян был единственным из историков, который не был приглашен на проходивший 15-20 сентября 2003 года в Ереване первый Международный конгресс арменоведов. В декабре 2003 года в Ереванском государственном университете докторская диссертация Айвазяна по истории была провалена. Как отмечает сочувствующая Айвазяну пресса, в Армении его взгляды разделяют «малое исключение» историков. A.
