Archizoom Associati was a design studio from Florence, Italy founded in 1966. The group that founded the studio consists of Andrea Branzi (architect and designer), Gilberto Corretti (architect and designer), Paolo Deganello (architect and designer) and Massimo Morozzi (architect and designer); later in 1968 the group was joined by Dario Bartolini (designer) and Lucia Bartolini (designer).

Archizoom organized his first exhibition called "Superarchitettura" in December 1966 along with the group Superstudio. The exhibition featured colorful projections and prototypes handled the concept of radical anti-design as dynamic sofa Superonda (conception by Andrea Branzi) produced by the company Poltronova. During 1967 Archizoom still Remained in the exhibitions as "Super Architettura 2" and "Modena" that brought the concept of kitsch dorms titled "dream beds". In von der Pop Art inspirierten, provokanten Werken löst sich Archizoom von dem dominierenden funktionalistischen Design. Ein Beispiel hierfür ist das Sofa Superonda aus dem Jahr 1966, ein wellenförmiger durchtrennter Polyurethanblock, der sich zu verschiedenen Sitzkombinationen zusammenstellen lässt. In dem Sessel Mies aus dem Jahr 1969 zitiert Archizoom auf ironische Art und Weise einen Designklassiker und kombiniert einen Stahlrahmen in Form eines dreiseitigen Prismas mit einer bequemen Liegefläche aus Latex. Archizoom stellte bestehende bürgerliche Werte und Konventionen in Frage und kritisierte die bestehende Konsumgesellschaft. Auch wenn sich Archizoom bereits 1974 wieder auflöste, ist ihr Einfluss auf spätere Gruppierungen wie Memphis oder Alchimia unverkennbar. (de)

Inspirados en el Art Nouveau, el art déco, el pop-art y el arte kitsch, realizaron una serie de diseños de tono irreverente que cuestionaban la funcionalidad y buen gusto del diseño anterior (como la Silla Mies, de 1969, o la banqueta modular Supernova, de 1966). También concibieron proyectos de ciudades utópicas del futuro, donde la tecnología liberaría al ser humano del trabajo manual. (es)
