Alto, O.S.B., (died c. 760) was a Benedictine abbot active in the Duchy of Bavaria during the mid-8th century. Tradition holds him to be the eponymous founder of Altomünster Abbey, around which a market town grew up, also called Altomünster. He is honored as a saint by the Catholic Church.

(it) Der heilige Alto († um 760) war ein Einsiedlermönch irischer Abstammung, der im Gebiet des heutigen Altomünster in Bayern wirkte; er ist auf dem örtlichen Wappen dargestellt. Gemäß der Überlieferung soll Alto das Kloster Altomünster gegründet haben. Sein Gedenktag ist der 9. Februar. Der Name Alto bedeutet im Lateinischen „der hoch Gewachsene“. (de)
