Aleiodes (Greek ἀ "not", λείος "smooth", εἵδος "appearance") is a genus of the family Braconidae of parasitoid wasps described by Constantin Wesmael in 1838. They are also known as mummy-wasps. The female attacks caterpillars of various species, including many pests such as Gypsy moths and tent caterpillars, and then deposits eggs in the caterpillars. The eggs hatch and the wasp larva feeds on the caterpillar, leaving a hardened caterpillar skin, or mummy. The wasp pupates within the mummy and eventually the adult breaks out, leaving a small hole in the husk of the caterpillar.

- Aleiodes is een geslacht van vliesvleugelige insecten (Hymenoptera) uit de familie van de schildwespen (Braconidae). De wetenschappelijke naam van het geslacht werd voor het eerst geldig gepubliceerd door Constantin Wesmael in 1838. Aleiodes is het grootste geslacht uit de onderfamilie Rogadinae. Deze schildwespen zijn endoparasitoïden van rupsen (larven van Lepidoptera). De wesp legt een eitje in een rups van een gastheersoort. De wespenlarve gebruikt de rups als voedsel en doodt ze ten slotte, en mummificeert ze tot een omhulsel waarin de wespenlarve zal verpoppen. De "mummie" bestaat uit de huid van de rups, die hard en donker wordt en opgezwollen is. De wespenlarve maakt gewoonlijk een ronde opening in de mummie alvorens te verpoppen in de overblijfselen van haar gastheer, die ze heeft vastgehecht aan een blad of een twijg. De wespen zelf zijn klein, meestal 4 tot 9 mm lang, maar kunnen nuttig zijn als biologische bestrijders van schadelijke (plantenetende) rupsen. Aleiodes is een omvangrijk geslacht met honderden beschreven soorten, dat wereldwijd voorkomt behalve op Antarctica. Sommige soorten zijn zeer algemeen. In Nederland en België komen tientallen soorten voor, waaronder Aleiodes albitibia (Herrich-Schäffer, 1838) die onder meer de dromedaris (Notodonta dromedarius) als gastheer heeft, en (in Nederland) Aleiodes praetor (Reinhard, 1863) met de populierenpijlstaart (Laothoe populi) en de lindepijlstaart (Mimas tiliae) als gastheren.
