Adriaan Johannes Vlok (born 11 December 1937) is a South African former politician. He was Minister of Law and Order in South Africa from 1986 to 1991 in the final years of the apartheid era. Facing increasingly intense opposition and political unrest in this period, the South African government – through the State Security Council of which Vlok was a member – planned and implemented drastic repressive measures, including hit squads, carrying out bombings and assassination of anti-apartheid activists.

Bis zu ihrer Auflösung 2005 war er Mitglied der Nasionale Party (NP) sowie 1986 bis 1991 Südafrikas Minister für öffentliche Ordnung. Er ist der erste Minister des früheren Apartheid-Regimes, der sich in einem Prozess gegen frühere Mitglieder der Sicherheitsbehörden vor einem Gericht für Verbrechen, die er während seiner Amtszeit begangen hatte, verantworten musste und dafür rechtskräftig verurteilt wurde. Seine Bewährungsstrafe löste jedoch landesweite Kontroversen aus. (fr) Adriaan Johannes Vlok (Sutherland, 11 december 1937) is een Zuid-Afrikaans politicus van de Nasionale Party. Vlok was van 1986 tot 1991 minister voor openbare orde. Hij is de eerste minister van het vroegere apartheidsbewind, die zich voor het gerecht moest verantwoorden voor misdaden die tijdens zijn ambtstijd waren begaan. Hij werd veroordeeld tot een voorwaardelijke gevangenisstraf van 10 jaar. In 1991 werd Vlok door president Frederik Willem de Klerk van zijn post ontheven en gedegradeerd tot hoofd van het gevangeniswezen. Deze functie bekleedde Vlok tot 1994. (nl)
