| - Ad sanctam beati Petri sedem is an apostolic constitution in the form of a papal bull promulgated by Pope Alexander VII in 1656 which judged the meaning and intention of Cornelius Jansen's words in Augustinus, and confirmed and renewed the condemnation in Cum occasione promulgated by Pope Innocent X in 1653 that five propositions found in Augustinus were heretical. That same year, 1656, sixty Jansenist doctors, including Antoine Arnauld, were degraded from the College of Sorbonne faculty of theology. French bishops supported Alexander VII. Michael O'Riordan wrote, in Catholic Encyclopedia, that since some still insisted that those propositions were not to be found in Augustinus, or were not meant by Jansen in the sense in which they were condemned, Ad sanctam beati Petri sedem furthermore declared that they are contained in Augustinus, and have been condemned according to the sense of the author. Alexander VII continued this condemnation in Regiminis Apostolici, promulgated in 1665 which required, according to the Enchiridion symbolorum, "all ecclesiastical personnel and teachers" to subscribe to an included formulary, the Formula of Submission for the Jansenists, by rejecting and condemning the five propositions contained in Augustinus. Jansenism was condemned as heretical, by the Catholic Church, in at least four documents: Ad sanctam beati Petri sedem, Regiminis Apostolici, Vineam Domini Sabaoth, and Unigenitus. (en)

Eis o texto dogmático tal como o apresenta Enchiridion Symbolorum: "(§6) Declaramos e definimos que aquelas cinco proposições foram extraídas do livro do precitado Cornelius Jansenius, Bispo de Ypres, que intitulava-se Augustinus, e condenadas no sentido intentado pelo mesmo Cornelius" No texto eram transcritas as cinco proposições condenadas na bula anteriormente citada: 1.
* Alguns mandamentos de Deus são impossíveis de ser cumpridos para os justos, com as forças que têm no presente, embora queiram e se esforcem, e também lhes falta a graça que os torna possíveis. 2.
* No estado de natureza decaída nunca se resiste à graça interior. 3.
* Para merecer e desmerecer, no estado de natureza decaída, não se requer no homem a liberdade de necessidade, mas somente a liberdade de coação. 4.
* Os semipelagianos admitiam a necessidade da graça interior preveniente para cada um dos atos, mesmo para o início da fé; e nisto eram hereges, em quererem que essa graça fosse tal que a vontade humana lhe pudesse resistir ou obedecer-lhe. 5.
* É semipelagiano dizer que Cristo morreu e derramou o seu sangue por absolutamente todos os homens. O jansenismo foi condenado como herético pela Igreja Católica em pelo menos seis documentos: (1653) e Ad sanctam beati Petri sedem (1656): contra o ; Vineam Domini Sabaoth (1705): contra o "silêncio obsequioso" proposto por A.
