This was the second time Stratford hosted the Canadian Junior Curling Championships. The first was in 2016 when Manitoba's Matt Dunstone and Nova Scotia's Mary Fay took home the titles. The 2022 event will feature eighteen teams on both the men's and women's sides, each split into two pools of nine. The top three teams from each pool at the end of the round robin advanced to the playoff round.
