The 2022–23 season is the 144th in Indian football. This will be the first season since 2019–20 with single top-tier league, Indian Super League. This season also full attendance will be allowed again, as matches were held without or limited spectators because of COVID-19 outbreak in the country. The Indian Super Cup returns after 2018–19 season, and the Durand Cup has been restructured to fulfil the minimum number of games set by AFC.
