The 2005–06 Turkish Second League Category A (also known as Iddaa League A due to sponsoring reasons) was the second-level football league of Turkey and the 43rd season since its establishment in 1963–64. At the end of the season, in which 18 teams competed in a single group, Bursaspor and Antalyaspor, which finished the league in the first two places, and the play-off winner Sakaryaspor were promoted to the upper league, while Mersin İdman Yurdu, Yozgatspor and Çanakkale Dardanelspor, which were in the last three places, were relegated.

Absteiger aus der Süper Lig waren in dieser Saison Sakaryaspor, İstanbulspor und Akçaabat Sebatspor. Zu den Neulingen gehörten Orduspor, Gaziantep BB und Uşakspor. In dieser Saison wurde ein neuer Modus eingeführt, der 1. und 2. Platz steigen direkt in die Süper Lig auf. Die Mannschaften vom 3. bis zum 6. Platz qualifizieren sich für die Playoff-Runde. In dieser Runde wird der letzte Aufstiegsplatz vergeben. Der Sieger des Playoff-Finales ist 3. Aufsteiger. In dieser Saison sind Bursaspor und Antalyaspor direkt in die Süper Lig aufgestiegen und den letzten Aufstiegsplatz sicherte sich Sakaryaspor zum ersten Mal im neuen Modus.
