- The 1975 Hockey World Cup was the third edition of the Hockey World Cup men's field hockey tournament. It was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. In the final, India defeated Pakistan from a goal difference of 2–1. Surjit Singh scored the first crucial goal followed with the winner from Ashok Kumar. It was the second World Cup Final appearance for both the nations; Pakistan was the winner of the inaugural World Cup in 1971, and India, the runner-up of 1973 edition. Germany defeated hosts, Malaysia, with a goal difference of 4–0 for third place. (en)
- Die 3. Feldhockey-Weltmeisterschaft der Herren wurde vom 1. März 1975 bis zum 15. März 1975 in Kuala Lumpur auf Naturrasen ausgetragen. Es nahmen zwölf Mannschaften an dem Turnier teil, die zunächst in zwei Gruppen eingeteilt wurden. Für einen Sieg gab es zwei Punkte. Indien wurde nach einem 2:1-Finalsieg gegen Pakistan zum bisher einzigen Mal Weltmeister. Deutschland wurde Dritter. (de)
- La III Copa Mundial de Hockey Masculino se celebró en Kuala Lumpur (Malasia) entre el 1 y el 14 de marzo de 1975 bajo la organización de la Federación Internacional de Hockey (FIH) y la Federación Malaya de Hockey. Le prime due di ogni gruppo si sono qualificate alle semifinali del torneo a eliminazione diretta, in cui le due vincenti hanno avuto accedesso alla finalissima per la medaglia d'oro, mentre le due perdenti hanno disputato la finale 3º-4º posto che assegna la medaglia di bronzo. - 3-й чемпионат мира по хоккею на траве среди мужчин (The 1975 Men’s Hockey World Cup; Кубок мира по хоккею на траве среди мужчин 1975) проводился с 1 марта по 15 марта 1975 на стадионе в городе Куала-Лумпур (Малайзия). Чемпионом стала сборная Индии (впервые в своей истории), победившая в финале сборную Пакистана со счётом 2:1 (эти же команды встречались в финале самого первого чемпионата мира в 1971 году; тогда победу одержала сборная Пакистана). Бронзовым призёром стала сборная ФРГ, победившая в матче за 3-е место сборную Малайзии со счётом 4:0. (ru)
- In 1975 was Azië, de bakermat van de hockeysport, voor het eerst gastheer van het wereldkampioenschap hockey voor mannen. Maleisië viel de eer te beurt van de organisatie van de derde editie, die van zaterdag 1 maart tot en met zaterdag 15 maart 1975 werd gehouden. Plaats van handeling was het Merdeka Stadium in de hoofdstad Kuala Lumpur. Titelverdediger was Nederland, dat twee jaar eerder bij het WK in eigen land (Amstelveen) de bokaal won ten koste van India. Het toernooi, onder auspiciën van de wereldhockeybond FIH, werd geteisterd door overvloedige regen, waardoor een aantal duels moest worden uitgesteld en werd verplaatst naar elders in Maleisië, onder meer in Ipoh. Uit pure wanhoop riep de organisatie op na verloop van tijd de hulp in van plaatselijke 'regendokters', de zogeheten Bom (nl)
