Yiannis Nicholas Moschovakis (Greek: Γιάννης Μοσχοβάκης; born January 18, 1938) is a set theorist, descriptive set theorist, and recursion (computability) theorist, at UCLA. His book Descriptive Set Theory (North-Holland) is the primary reference for the subject. He is especially associated with the development of the effective, or lightface, version of descriptive set theory, and he is known for the Moschovakis coding lemma that is named after him.

(pt) Ο Γιάννης Μοσχοβάκης (Αθήνα, 18 Ιανουαρίου 1938) είναι Έλληνας μαθηματικός. Μετά από βασικές και μεταπτυχιακές σπουδές στο Τεχνολογικό Ινστιτούτο της Μασαχουσέτης, εκπόνησε τη διδακτορική του διατριβή με τίτλο Αναδρομική ανάλυση (Recursive Analysis) κάτω από την επίβλεψη του Στίβεν Κλέινι στο και αναγορεύτηκε διδάκτορας το 1963. Ειδικεύεται στη μαθηματική λογική, με έμφαση στη θεωρία συνόλων και τη θεωρία υπολογισιμότητας. Το σύγγραμμά του ("Descriptive set theory", α΄ έκδοση το 1980) παραμένει το βασικότερο ίσως βιβλίο αναφοράς του εν λόγω τομέα.
