Walerian Czuma (24 December 1890 – 7 April 1962) was a Polish general and military commander. He is notable for his command over a Polish unit in Siberia during the Russian Civil War, and the commander of the defence of Warsaw during the siege in 1939.

  • Walerian Czuma (Niepołomice, 24 dicembre 1890 – , 7 aprile 1962) è stato un generale polacco. Durante la prima guerra mondiale guidò il battaglione del terzo reggimento di fanteria delle Legioni. Dall'agosto 1918 fu a capo della V Divisione dei Tiratori Polacchi (Divisione Siberiana), la quale, al fianco delle forze della Triplice Intesa, combatteva contro gli eserciti bolscevichi. In seguito al tradimento del Corpo Cecoslovacco, si ritrovò in prigionia insieme a tutta l'unità sotto il suo comando. Fu detenuto a Krasnojarsk e ad Omsk, e dal 6 novembre 1920 presso il carcere di Butyrka a Mosca. Il 17 gennaio 1922 fu oggetto di uno scambio di prigionieri, grazie al quale ottenne la libertà in cambio di quella di alcuni commissari sovietici. (it)
