He acted in a number of films, including Sathya, Hey Ram, Paarthale Paravasam and Poikkal Kudhirai. Jego utwory były wykorzystywane również w filmach w telugu i malajalam. Opublikował przeszło 20 książek, między innymi Avathara Purushan, Pandavar Bhoomi, Ramanuja Kaviyam, Krishna Vijayam, Kalaignar Kaviyam, Krishna Bhakthan i Naanum Indha Nootrandum. Nació en , cerca de Tiruchi, en el sur de la India. Tuvo una larga asociación ―de cinco décadas― con la industria del cine tamil, escribió más de 15 000 canciones. Desde 1944 estuvo casado con Ramani Thilagam (f. 2009). Actuó en varias películas, incluyendo Sathya, Hey Ram, Paarthale Paravasam y Poikkal Kudhirai.
