Tinco Martinus Lycklama à Nijeholt (9 July 1837, in Beetsterzwaag – 7 December 1900, in Cannes) was a Frisian aristocrat, adventurer, writer and socialite, also considered one of the first Dutch orientalists. At the age of 28, he took a three-year solitary voyage through Russia, the Caucasus and the Middle East. Shortly after his return to the Netherlands, he moved to Cannes. The report of his travels totals over 2,200 pages in four volumes. Tinco amassed an exceptional collection of oriental paintings and artifacts, which he donated to the city of Cannes in 1877. This collection is the centerpiece of the modern , the municipal museum of Cannes. Tinco Lycklama remained a citizen of Cannes until his death in 1900 and was a key personality in the fin-de-siècle of the Côte d'Azur.

Riche aventurier et mondain, il est l'un des premiers orientalistes néerlandais. Résidant à Paris, il quitte la capitale à l'âge de 28 ans pour un voyage solitaire de plus de trois ans à travers la Russie, le Caucase et le Moyen-Orient. Peu après son retour aux Pays-Bas, il repart aussitôt et s'établit à Cannes. Le récit de ses voyages est publié en quatre tomes totalisant plus de 2200 pages. Il avait amassé une collection exceptionnelle de peintures et d'objets orientaux, dont il fait don à la ville de Cannes en 1877. Sa collection est à l'origine de l'actuel Musée de la Castre à Cannes. Hij vergaarde een unieke collectie oosterse schilderijen en voorwerpen, waarmee hij te Beetsterzwaag een museum begon. Over zijn reiservaringen schreef hij een vierdelig boek. Na enkele jaren, echter, besloot hij zich in Cannes te vestigen. Zijn collectie schonk hij in 1877 aan het stadsbestuur.
