The Lion is a 1962 British-American adventure film in CinemaScope directed by Jack Cardiff, starring William Holden and Trevor Howard. Filmed on location in Kenya and Uganda and on a property in Kenya co-owned by Holden, the Mount Kenya Safari Club. The film had its World Premiere at the Leicester Square Theatre in London's West End on 26 July 1962.
