| - الجمعية الآسيوية (بالإنجليزية: The Asiatic Society) هي جمعية تعني بدراسة الشرق. أسسها السير وليم جونز في كلكتا سنة 1784م. تغير اسم الجمعية عدة مرات، أولها:
* Asiatick Society
* ثم تغيرت عام 1825 إلى The Asiatic Society
* ثم تغيرت عام 1832 إلى The Asiatic Society of Bengal
* ثم عام 1936 إلى «جمعية البنغال الآسيوية الملكية» The Royal Asiatic Society of Bengal وآخيرا في سنة 1951م استقر الاسم على الاسم الحالي. (ar)

De Society werd in 1784 opgericht door de oriëntalist en taalkundige William Jones en speelde een belangrijke rol bij de vertaling van Sanskritische teksten, waardoor kennis over de hindoeïstische mythologie, Indiase filosofie en antieke, klassieke en middeleeuwse geschiedenis werd ontsloten voor het Europese publiek. Ha cambiado varias veces de nombre: Asiatick Society (1784-1825), The Asiatic Society (1825-1832), The Asiatic Society of Bengal (1832-1936), The Royal Asiatic Society of Bengal (1936-1951) y The Asiatic Society (1951-presente).
