Stanley Stuart (Bob) Davis (born 17 December 1942) is emeritus professor of pharmacy at the University of Nottingham. Davis was born in Warwick, England. He obtained his bachelor's degree in pharmacy from the School of Pharmacy at the University of London in 1964. He remained at the same university to study for a PhD in colloid science (1967). In 1966 he was appointed assistant lecturer in pharmaceutics and then to lecturer in 1967. He was awarded his Doctor of Science degree (higher doctorate) in 1982. In 1968 he was awarded a one-year Fulbright Scholarship to undertake postdoctoral studies with Takeru Higuchi at the University of Kansas, US, in the field of solution thermodynamics.
